A woman who was concerned about the ageing process has had fillers injected into both hands to make them appear more youthful.
Jeanette Bailey, 55, regularly has Botox twice a year, and hated their 'dry', 'old' appearance - prompting her to have the substance injected into the back of her hands.
The grandmother from Southampton, Hampshire, felt her hands were letting her face down but is now happy with their plumper appearance following the £350 treatment - which is expected to last for up to 18 months.
Jeanette Bailey, 55, from Southampton, chose to have fillers injected into her hands as she was unhappy with their 'old' appearance, pictured Jeanette before having the procedure
Jeannette, who now has regular manicures, said: 'When you looked at my hands they were old and horrible.
'My daughter said to me "Mum, you look after your face but don't look after your hands".'
After turning 50, Jeanette started having Botox every six months - costing £240 a time - because she felt her face was 'growing old'.
She also spent £800 on a mini face lift which pulls back the face using just one or two stitches.
Following the treatment, Jeanette received compliments from friends and people at the hospital where she works as a housekeeper.
Jeanette had the treatment to plump up the back of her hands which she thought were 'horrible' before, left, and she now feels her hands look much younger, right
Jeanette, left before the fillers, started having Botox after she turned 50 along with a mini facelift but felt her hands were letting her down and betraying her real age
Jeanette, pictured after the fillers, felt her work as a hospital housekeeper was ageing her hands because she had to wash them so often. She's now so happy with their appearance and draws attention to them with professional manicures and false nails
However she felt that while her face appeared youthful, her hands were betraying her real age.
She said: 'When you turn 50, that's when you notice your hands and fingers are getting older.
'They were horrible before and I thought "Eurgh" looking at them.'
Jeanette also felt that her job in the hopsital was speeding up the ageing process because she had to wash her hands so often.
In December Jeanette had the procedure at Firvale Clinic in Southampton with the procedure carried out by Dr.Carolyn Berry.
It took around half an hour for the Ellanse fillers to be inserted with two injections in the top of each hand.
She felt sore during the procedure but didn't feel any lasting pain after it was done.
Jeanette, left aged 32, felt she was looking after her face by having Botox regularly, right, but wasn't looking after her hands which can be a giveaway of age
Jeannette, pictured with her grandaughter, said the hand fillers took half an hour to apply and she felt sore during the procedure but didn't have any lasting pain after the injections
Jeanette, pictured with her grandchildren Isabella and Thomas Hardy, plans to have the treatment again when the affects have worn off and says she has received compliments from friends and colleagues. She said: 'Now I make an effort with my hands all the time'
But she did close her eyes during the procedure to avoid feeling squeamish, saying: 'I don't like looking at things like that.'
Jeannette said she noticed the difference almost immediately, with the veins and wrinkles less prominent.
She now regularly pays for manicures and fake nails in a salon, as well as moisturising often to keep her hands in tip-top condition.
She said: 'I didn't think it would make such a difference but even people at work were surprised.
'Now I make an effort with my hands all the time.'
Jeannette also admitted she would be keen to pay for the procedure again once the affects had worn off.
Jeanette said: 'I've got to keep it up. I look so good now it's worth it. It definitely makes me feel better about myself.'
