Most mothers with young daughters will be familiar with the demand for pierced ears.
And no doubt Roxy Jacenko is too, after she took her four-year-old daughter Pixie Curtis to a Sydney salon on Tuesday to get the treatment done.
Sharing an image to Instagram of what is no doubt a milestone occasion for any little girl, Pixie appeared to be screaming with pain, as she clenched her shut during the experience.

Sitting perched on her mother's lap, the adorable tot screwed her face up as the attendant at the Chanel store busied herself piercing the toddlers's ear lobes.
Her hand also appeared to be scrunched into a tight fight to combat the pain, as mother Roxy looked on excitedly and hugged her for her support.
'Explain this one to the husband. Better solution. Do it on Instagram .... Sorry @1903oprc but @pixiecurtis insisted !?' the PR maven captioned an image showing the pair in the midst of the treatment.

Both images were flooded with comments from fans debating the right age to allow a girl to get their ears pierced.
'In Brazil we have our ears pierced when we are born,' wrote one user.

Roxy has already been criticised in the past for making her daughter grow up too fast, after starting a business for her, giving her an Instagram account and spoiling her with a regular number of luxurious beauty treatments and expensive items.
Last month the mother-of-two came under fire after a media publication accused her of 'exploiting' her daughter.

The article controversially proclaimed that 'Pixie Curtis and every other Instagram kid exploited by their poseur parents' should be able to 'successfully sue for child abuse.'
The statement was written among others in a would-be Christmas wishlist advocating 'greater good for the masses' by a columnist writing for The Age.
Meanwhile, Pixie joins a growing number of celebrity children who have received the popular treatment in their youth.

'That's cruel AND tacky,' wrote another.
Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin's daughter Carmen was just seven-months old when she began sporting a glittering set of earrings, while Gisele Bundchen's adorable tot Vivian Lake was eight-months-old.

In August this year, Mariah showed off her four-year-old daughter Monroe's new earrings on social media.
'Roe Roe gets her ears pierced!!' the singer wrote on her Twitter account, along with a photo of her with her little one after the procedure.
Similarly, Angelina Jolie also sparked debate among mothers after allowing daughters Zahara, who was six at the time, and Shiloh, who was five at the time, to get their ears pierced.
Meanwhile, other celebrity children have waited until they are in their teens to adorn their ears with some bling, including including Brooklyn Beckham who pierced his left ear lobe with a glimmering diamond when he was 16-years-old.
While Willow Smith pierced her Tragus - which is on the front of the ear canal - at 13-years of age.
