WE’VE all been sent things through the mail we don’t particularly want, but a 37-year-old British man got the shock of his life when he received a human tumour sample instead of a Kindle.
James Potten, of Bristol, was waiting to take delivery of a waterproof Kindle from FedEx (by way of California), but he ended up with a human tissue sample instead. Nice
The sample was originally intended for London’s Royal Free Hospital, and the mix up apparently happened because the two parcels had similar tracking numbers. .
Wow @FedEx. You've swapped my new kindle with a tumor specimen. Still waiting for collection #FedExFail #notmykindle http://pic.twitter.com/GlleuOYbiE

“When I opened it I had quite a shock,” Potten told the BBC, in something of an understatement.
He called the company and arranged for the driver to return to the house to collect the sample, telling the BBC: “I’ve been trying to get FedEx to collect it as it is potentially a sample that needs to be tested and sent back with some urgency. I don’t know where my Kindle is, but if it is at the Royal Free I’d be happy to do an exchange.”FedEx later said it “regretted the error” and “will consider future changes to our processes”.Apparently, the tumour is now on its way to its intended home. No word on whether Potten received his Kindle.
Been a bonkers day. Thankfully the tumour sample now on route to its rightful owner @FedEx @Waterfi #notmykindle https://t.co/VmrCrwHQpN
