Detective Sergeant Brendan Butland told the court on Tuesday of the new charges against Kevin Wild after barrister Michael O'Connell said that his client had been offered a job in the building industry.
Mr O'Connell said Wild's potential employer was aware of the original two charges.
Sgt Butland also told Deputy Chief Magistrate Jelena Popovic during the hearing that after the alleged assault, a witness recalled Kevin Wild joking about the girl's age, saying: 'The next time I see her I should buy her some Dora the Explorer underwear'.
It is alleged the 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at one address, then attacked by up to three offenders in another garage, before being dropped off back at the park
The Melbourne Magistrates Court heard that Kevin Wild - originally charged with one count each of rape and abduction - is now facing 14 charges
Police say the Wilds found the girl with a male friend at a park near a party in the early hours of November 1.
It is alleged she was taken away by the group and sexually assaulted by Kevin and Brodie at one address while the other two stood nearby, before she was attacked by up to three offenders in a garage at another property.
The girl was then dropped back to the park and went to a nearby house to ask for help.
However, Mr O'Connell told Ms Popovic that the teenager had told police her memory of the night was patchy.
He said several witnesses from the party she had been at before the park recalled her acting drunk.
Mr O'Connell said these witnesses recalled her having sexual encounters with other teenagers at the party and said that behaviour needed to be considered.
The matter has been adjourned until later on Tuesday afternoon.
The girl was allegedly approached by the men in a St Alban's park and physically carried to a neaby street where she was allegedly sexually assaulted
