The pair got straight into making their entrée, Potato and Cheese Pierogi with bacon and sage sauce.
‘For the entrée we want to show who we are and show our culture and make our mum proud,’ JP explained.

However, the couple had worried about impressing Jessica, who has expressed her concerned about eating carbohydrates, as well as being extremely hard to please.
‘This dish is pastry, butter, and potatoes, so it could not be any more carb-heavy,’ the couple worried beforehand.
However, the dish was a hit with the entire table, including Jessica, who exclaimed: 'Everything about this entrée speaks to me, never mind the calories – I'm just really excited for it!'
Judge Pete Evans, also described the meal as ‘a beautiful plate of food.’
‘It’s just good, honest, home cooking,’ he told the couple.
‘My taste buds are just dancing,’ Italian’s Luciano and Martino exclaimed.

Second course: For their main meal the couple served Rib eye and celeriac mash and lapsang souchong barbecue sauce
Relieved: The couple worried that they had under cooked the meat, however the dish was a hit with both the judges and contestants
For their main meal the couple served Rib eye and celeriac mash and lapsang souchong barbecue sauce.
But as they plated up the meals they worried that they had under cooked the meat as well as not blending their mash well enough.
'This is not looking good,' JP admitted, adding: 'The mash is lumpy, the steak's under, it's embarrassing.'
But the couple pushed ahead and plated up their meal, saying: 'It's not what we wanted, but at the end of the day, we've got to get something out. It's still edible. Let's hope for the best.'
However, the dish was a hit with both the judges and contestants, with the only disappointment had by judge Pete Evans was the meat not being served on the bone.
Happy judges: Manu even drank the sauce straight from the jug to express his delight with the dish
‘The celeriac mash had a beautiful flavour and it was the right accompaniment for this dish and that sauce was the highlight - it had a beautiful smokey flavour,’ he explained.
‘This is really beautiful home cooking with a little bit of flair,’ he said to the couple.
Manu had similar comments, and even drank the sauce straight from the jug to express his delight.
‘It’s a beautiful sauce, and a beautiful accompaniment to a beautiful, tender, well cooked beef,’ he said.
The complements were much to the surprise of the couple, who hadn't expected their dish to fare so well, exclaiming in disbelief: ‘I feel like what you’re saying is not the dish we plated up.’

Disaster: Their run of good luck was soon up as the couple hit an obstacle as they went to serve up their desserts as they had no gas in their blowtorch to finish their crème brulee
However, their run of good luck was soon up as the couple hit an obstacle as they went to serve up their desserts.
Their crème brulee was ready to serve however as they went to burn the sugar on top of their dish their blow torch ran out of gas, leaving JP to make a desperate last minute dash to the service station.
‘We have gone from easy street to struggle street, to on the street,’ Nelly said, adding: ‘It’s a train wreck!’
‘Pretty much my worst nightmare,’ she went on.
Final dish: For dessert the couple served chai infused crème brulee
Mad rush to fix their dish: The service stations were all closed, leaving the couple in serious hot water
The service stations were all closed, leaving the couple in serious hot water.
‘This is the most frustrating moment of my life,’ JP exclaimed as he struggled to find an open shop.
Meanwhile Nelly was left to struggle alone back in kitchen. ‘I’m feeling defeated I just want to hang my apron up and walk away,’ Nelly said.
'I've got literally nothing to do but sit here and stress,' she admitted before getting to work on getting their ice cream ready.
'To make matters worse, the ice-cream is rock hard. It's not scooping out how I want it to. It looks horrible.
This ice-cream is just so icy. I think we overfroze it. I feel like I want to pull my hair out. This is the worst. I just need him to come back.'
Quick fix: However at the last hour, Nelly had an idea to save their desert by cooking toffee instead to place on the top
However at the last hour, Nelly had an idea to save their desert by cooking toffee instead to place on the top.
'This is why I love you,' JP gushed as Nelly told him her idea, exclaiming: 'You are a frickin' genius.'
As they plated their dessert, he continued: 'I think you being a smart little cookie has saved the day.'
The idea worked and saw the couple get over the line with the dessert, however they copped some minor criticism for it being under cooked as well as the ice cream being too hard.
However the couple managed to still score a great final score, receiving 85 out of 100, and placing them second place on the leader board.
‘We had extreme highs and extreme lows but we got through it together,’ the couple expressed after receiving their final scores.
