Adam Johnson's sister has backed an online campaign urging fans to change their Facebook profile pictures to a photo of the disgraced footballer.
Faye Johnson, who accompanied her older brother to court, wants fans to show support for the player, who faces jail for sexually touching and grooming a 15-year-old girl.
Her post states: 'Change your profile picture to support Adam Johnson's appeal. Facebook removed our group but we will not stop publicising our support #TeamAJ'.

Astonishingly, her Facebook post has already received more than 230 shares and over 60 'likes'. At least one of those commenting on the post changed their picture accordingly.
Faye, 23, also posted a photo of Johnson and his one-year-old daughter Ayla on Facebook on the same day his ex, Stacey Flounders, removed similar pictures. Faye made the photo her profile picture.
One comment posted under the photo attacks Johnson's victim as a 'wannabe wag' and other states: 'F*** the haters'.
Johnson molested the young fan in his car after giving her a signed football shirt. By refusing to plead guilty, he then put the young fan through the ordeal of giving evidence at trial.
He was convicted of one count of sexual activity with a child in relation to touching the girl and cleared of another count related to oral sex.
His sister's post suggests, as has previously been reported, that he intends to appeal his conviction.

Faye was present for almost every day of her brother's three-week trial and is now backing his appeal
The 28-year-old would need to prove to a panel of three top judges that his conviction is 'unsafe' for a reason such as inconsistency of verdicts, a misdirection of the jury or wrongly excluded evidence.
Faye Johnson was present for almost every day of her brother's three-week trial, arriving and leaving with her and Johnson's father, Dave.
Her phone went off during one of the lawyer's summing up speeches and she had to rush out of court.
It emerged today that Johnson's ex-girlfriend Stacey Flounders has removed all pictures of the disgraced footballer from her Facebook page.
Johnson is currently on bail for two weeks until a sentencing hearing later this month. The judge in the case said he should use the time to 'say goodbye to his daughter'.
