But David Walliams didn't hold back with his dry - and at times dirty - wit during an appearance on James Corden's The Late Late Show, on Tuesday, as he made a crude joke about One Direction.
Asked if he'd actually been mistaken for one of the boy band by the Queen, the 44-year-old comedian quipped that as much as he'd like to 'be in' the band, he wasn't quite sure he'd like 'all of them'.

Appearing on the show to promote his latest children's book, Demon Dentist, the Little Britain star was asked by his host, 37, about his numerous face-to-face encounters with Queen Elizabeth.
Straying on to the subject of the Royal Variety show, James then asked David if it was true he'd been mistaken for a member of globe-conquering One Direction.
Slipping into his most sly and seedy comedic persona, he replied, 'As much as I'd like to be in One Direction,' before pausing and turning to the audience with a wry smile on his face: 'Not all of them!'

His fellow guest Queen Latifah couldn't contain herself as she burst out into fits of giggles on the sofa next to him.
And while certain members of the One Direction fan club may have been shocked by his lewd joke, the audience couldn't contain their laughter as David smirked and played up to his comment.
Steering the tone of the conversation away from the boyband, the Britain's Got Talent judge revealed that he'd actually been mistaken for a former member of another famous boyband.

David obviously enjoyed his time on the show, as he later posted a selfie of himself, James and Queen Latifah to his Instagram account.

David, who is rumored to be dating former Made In Chelsea babe Ashley James, was making the most of his time away from the Britain's Got Talent panel to promote his book and rest up.
As the comedian will be back on the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden in April - when the show returns to TV.
