Ex-UK soldier posts Facebook and Twitter pictures of him 'hunting ISIS jihadis'

A former British soldier who calls himself the 'ISIS slayer' claims to be waging war on the terror group after joining a rogue unit of volunteers.

Barry Hall, also known as Bazza, says he is fighting with other Britons in a unit called the Daesh Hunting Club.

They have teamed up with Kurdish Peshmerga forces who appear to be taking back territory from the jihadis and killing dozens of militants in northern Iraq.

The 41-year-old has taken to Facebook and Twitter to post images purportedly showing him arresting ISIS fighters after storming their compounds in the dead of night.

On Facebook, he describes himself as an 'ISIS slayer'.

One picture claims to show Mr Hall brandishing an assault rifle while standing over suspected jihadis lying face down on the floor.

He tweeted: 'Well eight hrs of Daesh hunting last night. This time we got them in their beds.'

He also posted a link to a Kurdish news report describing how Peshmerga fighters fought off an assault by ISIS on the village of Basheer in southern Kirkuk on February 26.

It said 23 of the 40 ISIS fighters were killed.

Alongside the link, Mr Hall said: 'For those that think we're here doing nothing.'

Other images appear to show him on patrol in military vehicles, firing mortars and his comrades capturing a huge cache of weapons at an ISIS hideout.

He posted: 'A buddy of mine and fellow Brit had a nice weapons find in Syria today.'

The unit have their own woven badges and flag bearing the name Daesh Hunting Club.

They deliberately used the word Daesh, an alternative name for ISIS, to antagonize the terror group.

The militants hate the name because it is similar to the Arabic word das, which means 'to trample down' or 'crush'.

Mr Hall, who claims to have served with the Royal Artillery from 1991, has also made appeal for donations to fund the unit's operations.

The GoFundMe appeal so far has 42 donations totalling £1,718 as of Wednesday.
