Holly Willoughby plays it safe in modest LBD at Mark Ronson gig

She was left red-faced earlier this week when the zip on her dress broke from top to bottom during a charity reception at Downing Street.

But Holly Willoughby wasn't taking any chances when she partied at a private Mark Ronson performance at Annabel's in London on Wednesday, playing it safe in a simple LBD for the occasion.

The TV presenter ensured she didn't accidentally flash anyone by sporting a loose fitting shift, paired with opaque tights.

The modest dress boasted a sensible neckline and most importantly, no rogue zips.

Holly completed her covered up outfit with a pair of ankle boots, styling her blonde locks down in loose waves.

She was joined by a motley crew of stars at the gig, including classic singer Camilla Kerslake and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's brother Toby.

Whoops! Holly, 35, had earlier shared a photo on Instagram of the embarrassing incident, a speech bubble with exclamation point protecting her modesty

Holly exploded into giggles on the This Morning set on Wednesday, when her co-host Phillip Schofield showed her a story about her recent dress-split disaster on her phone.

On Tuesday night, the television presenter, 35, attended a reception for the charity Together 4 Short Lives at Downing Street when the zip on her dress broke from top to bottom - and Holly shared the story with her viewers.

Holding the phone up, Phillip said: 'This is the MailOnline showbiz section. The story that we told at the beginning of the show has now turned into the headline: 'My whole bum was out.'

'You didn't run around Downing Street like that did you?' Phillip laughed.

'No it was just my knickers. In the toilet,' Holly said laughing her head off.

The pretty blonde had talked about her embarrassing moment earlier in the day and revealed that she went to the toilet and the zip on her red bodycon number broke.

'It went completely,' she told viewers, looking mortified.

'I gave my coat in when my husband Dan and I arrived and you have to give your phone in as well.

'So I'm in the toilet with no coat, no phone, on my own, with my whole bum out!'

She continued: 'I had to wait for someone to come and say, 'Can you find my husband please? He's waiting outside the men's'.'

'Of course, Dan found it hilarious. The staff were recommending gaffer tape and safety pins but I had to keep my coat on all night.

What a woman: Holly revealed she was left red-faced on Tuesday night when she attended a charity reception at Downing Street for Together 4 Short Lives and suffered a huge wardrobe malfunction

All in good humour: The hosts of This Morning fell about laughing at her misfortune

Her co-host Phillip Schofield asked, 'What did Samantha Cameron say?'

She replied: 'Well I did tell her because we had a photo together and I said 'I'm really sorry I'm wearing my coat' - everybody was wearing normal clothes and I'm wearing a great big winter coat.

'I was like 'I'm so sorry but the zip on my dress has gone' and she just went 'Oh gosh!'... so there we go, that's how I spent the night looking like that!'

And in front of the Prime Minister's wife! Holly revealed she had told Samantha Cameron of the major fashion faux pas, and her response was 'Oh gosh!'

The presenter went on to speak about the lady who 'saved her' during the dress debacle.

'She was really kind, and she did say 'I have to say I am a journalist from the Telegraph' and she was really lovely, so thank you for saving my bacon and my embarrassment…. that was a nightmare!'

Phillip then added in his typical cheeky manner: 'I still think you should have walked around Downing Street with your bum out!'

Luckily Holly was able to see the funny side and she posted a couple of snaps of her and Dan outside the iconic front door, wrapped up in the white coat she was forced to wear for the remainder of the evening.'
