A woman suffered life changing injuries after her husband repeatedly stamped on her head as they walked their children to school, a court has heard.
Sylvan Maurice Parry, 46, is accused of attempting to murder wife Fiona Thomas Parry when he attacked her on a street in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, Wales, on September 3 last year.
Mold Crown Court heard Mrs Parry was left with such severe facial injuries she was barely recognisable, and that Parry ran away from the scene believing he had killed his wife.

Parry accepts causing the injuries but denies attempted murder.
Prosecutor Sion ap Mihangel said the incident had occurred on the first day of the new school term.
Opening the trial, he said there had been an air of excitement in the house but that Parry had been acting aggressively towards his wife as they left to start the journey to school.
'His demeanor did not improve as they made their way to school,' Mr ap Mihangel said. The couple were walking with two of their children, and had a third in the pram.
During the journey Parry made threats and launched abuse at his wife, it was alleged. As the family made their way down a pathway near the fire station Parry started physically attacking his wife.
Firefighters on duty saw the defendant stamping on his wife seven or eight times 'with considerable force' as she lay motionless on the ground, the prosecution alleges.
Mr ap Mihangel said: 'He was told to stop what he was doing by one of the officers but he continued to stamp and he was seen to kick his wife twice before walking away.
Mrs Parry was walking in the area close to the fire station and the town's court (seen right)
'He targeted a vulnerable area of the body, the head, and considerable force was used by him throughout this attack.
'The prosecution say this was clearly an attempt by this defendant to kill his wife. It was only because of the intervention of others that he did not succeed in killing her.'
Witnesses told how Fiona Thomas Parry was lying on her back and her face was so swollen she was barely recognisable.
The jury heard that Parry later told his wife's daughter that he had killed her mother. He also allegedly asked a police officer whether his wife was dead and said: 'I know what I have done'.
Sylvan Parry, 46, of Ffordd Cibyn in Caernarfon, accepts causing the injuries but denies trying to kill her during the incident on September 3 last year. The trial continues.
