However, the California-based sportswoman later claimed the person who has sent her the picture to share online had 'shaped' the muscles in her arms to make them look 'smaller' without her knowledge.
Ronda posted the digitally-altered picture alongside the original, with the caption: 'I have to make an apology to everyone — I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller.'

Deciding to keep the person who modified the snap anonymous, she continued: 'I won't say by who — I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions — but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body.'
Insisting it 'will never happen again', she concluded: 'I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me.'
Ronda's honesty was applauded by her fans. The image has received over 240,000 likes and 4,000 comments.
'You're stacked Ronda and that's a sexy quality in a woman,' wrote one admirer. 'If they wanted to interview a twig, they should have picked someone else. Good for you to stand up for your body and your beliefs.'
Another added: 'Good for you. I noticed that in the pic when I saw it yesterday. I thought maybe you quit working out. Glad to know you're still in play for the rematch. Kick ass, Ronda!'
While someone else commented: 'You're beautiful inside and out and great role model.'

Ronda, who recently starred on the cover of Sports Illutsrated's Swimsuit 2016, is a passionate campaigner about ensuring women of all shapes and sizes feel good about their bodies.
She suffered bullying and self-esteem issues as a teenager because of her figure.
Ahead of her fight against Bethe Correia last August, she spoke out about how proud she is of her athletic frame.
She said: 'That's why I think it's hilarious if people say that my body looks masculine, or something like that.
'I'm just like, "Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than f****** millionaires doesn't mean it's masculine.'
She added: 'I think it's femininely bad-ass as f*** because there's not a single muscle on my body that isn't for a purpose. Because, I'm not a do-nothing b****.
'It's not very eloquently said, but it's to the point. And, maybe that's just what I am. I'm not that eloquent, but I'm to the point.'
